Responsibilities:   Oversee fiscal and legal matters, vision, and programs of the church.

                            Serve as the congregational coordinating body, planning long and

                            short range goals, and giving direction on overall policy.


     1.  Meet monthly.


     2.  Appoint a Nominating Committee each January.


     3.  Plan agendas for: a. May meeting for elections.

                                       b. November meeting for budget purposes.


     4.  Oversee budget planning and administration.


     5.  Assume responsibility for the process of calling and employing pastoral staff.


     6.  Review performance of pastoral staff as per the "Memo of Understanding."


     7.  Facilitate the development of vision for the Church and the incorporation of

          vision in the various workings of the church.


    VISION STATEMENT:  Salem Mennonite Church commits to hear and live God's

    call to be followers of Jesus Christ and to grow as a worshipping community of faith

    and reconciliation, where peace, joy, and healing are experienced in the church and

    shared with others.
