FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE

Responsible to:     Leadership Board


Membership:        Five to six members elected by the congregation


Term of Office:     One year.  The chairperson is chosen by the committee at the

                             beginning of the year.


Responsibilities:     See that events helping  to meet the social needs of the congregation

                             are planned and carried out.


1.  Plan and organize a variety of monthly (≥ 8 / year) events which provide opportunity      for fun and fellowship.  (Examples from past years - fun night at WMS gym, box socials, social night in church families' homes, etc.)


2. The Fellowship Committee is responsible for organizing the preparation and clean-up for potluck dinners which are scheduled by them.


3.  Meet with the pastor and representatives from the Music Team, Worship Committee

     and the Children's Sunday School Department at the first of October to set dates for

     for the Christmas celebrations.


     - Work together with the Kitchen Committee in planning the social part of the

        Christmas celebration.


4.  Plan the August church picnic.  The Worship Committee will plan the worship service.


5.  Plan the annual retreat at Drift Creek Camp and work with the incoming Fellowship Committee to implement the plan in September each year shortly after the incoming Fellowship Committee members begin their term.


6.  Submit annual budget request for the Fellowship Committee.


Notes:

      - The committee may appoint additional persons for individual functions to help with

         the work involved.
